The hunt is sponsored by ILLOWA NAVHDA / NADKC / Louisa County Pheasant and Quail Forever. Youth 10 to 15 who have completed a Hunter Safety Course may apply.   We will host 12 to 15 youth for the 2nd Annual Jerry Houtekier Memorial Youth Pheasant Hunt.

The youth will received a review of hunting safety and rules followed by gun safety and trapshooting, game identification, hunting dog demonstration and pheasand hunt.    All guns, ammo, blaze orange, eye/ear protection, and food were be provided. All youth will be gifted a membership to Pheasant Forever by the chapter.

There is NO COST for this program thanks to NAVHDA, NADKC, Louisa County Pheasant & Quail Forever and generous donations from other area sponsors.

Attention:  Due to the ground conditions (snow and ice) and a medical emergency with one of the dogs, it is necessary to cancel the training day on the 11th and change it to the 18th.  All other details are the same.  Plan on doing some obedience work.  Weather permitting pheasants will be available for $15.00 to do some field work.
